Painting Truffle
I did go ahead and did the simple white background thing, but while editing I noticed how colorful her clothing line was, so it sparked an idea. Why not make the background a bit more interesting and augment the colors she is wearing in the shots? Paint! I have also been experimenting with a different editing technique on the skin. Keep in mind, she made the clothing herself. Enjoy.
Below is a small collection I call "Colors".

Here is the first shot where I added paint in the background. White shirt and grey skirt. The paint compliments the position of her arms.

Purple mini dress. Love her use of shoulders and the look into the camera. Paint compliments her shoulder angles.

Lovely simple smile with a bright yellow top. Paint contributes to skin and brings balance.

Amazing pose and look Katie is showing here. Simple, yet sexy off the shoulder top. Paint follows the path her hands follow to bring a pleasant balance to the shot.

Simple yet elegant blue nightie. Great facial expression by Katie. The swirls of paint compliments her pose. I like the picked up hair in this one.

Simple dark purple mini dress. The paint augments her sharp angles found in her pose.

Classy pose, with lots of contrast found in this image. Katie gives these panties a clever name.

Side shot of one with her hair in front of her, showing her back side. The gray paint mimics wings of sorts, brings balance to her pose and swimsuit.
Below are shots that do not use the color concept.

Closeup head shot of Katie.I love her pose, facial expression and hair on shoulder.

One of my favorite head shots I have ever taken. The simple blank stare Katie gives off seems surreal. Awesome bow and gloves too. I noticed that the bow and gloves acted as tiny light reflectors. COOL :)

Another head shot. The metal headband Katie made just MAKES this shot.

Katie with a blue ...thing? lol. Looks awesome. Use of hands facial expression is very well done.
Katie is one of the most talented stylists I have come across. Check out her clothing line at http://www.shoptruffle.com/.
Lighting Equipment Used:
External Flash mounted on Camera
No studio, no strobes, no umbrellas, no diffusers, no reflectors, no soft boxes.... just a simple flash mounted on top of the camera. if you have any questions, just ask. I'm no pro, but hey, I think it looks pretty good!
