Elena Photo Shoot

I go to myself, "Why would she... why would she want to watch?". I remembered that two years ago (when we were co-workers) I had asked Elena to shoot with me, and she said she would get back to me on that. She never did lol. When she asked me this, I figured that Elena was interested in the casting call but was to shy to directly volunteer, either because she never got back to me or because she is just shy in general.
As it turns out it was both lol. She admitted that she always fought with herself whenever I would place a casting call online. I am glad she responded. Elena turns out to be one of my fav models.
I contact a Make up Artist and a Wardrobe stylist for Elena's shoot. All this just made her a bit more nervous I think. Her, like me, prefer less people around when possible. As it turns out however, all 4 of us had a great time.
We agree to meet in Miami Beach before sunrise. We were set to meet at around 5:30am. MAAAN, waking up at that time is such a pain! lol

I begin with warm-up shots of Elena to get her used to being in front of the camera. Being that I personally do not like to take photographs where models are all giddy and smiling, new models like Elena have an easier time posing than posing for a photographer who is all about smiles. I normally dislike warm up shots, but I happened to like Elena's warm up shots.

Another warm up shot. Love her facial expression and the hair all over the face. (I happen to love messy hair, and I think it's cool when it gets in front of the face).

[UNEDITED] I love this shot. I like the lines and the direction a viewer's eyes flow. I risked lighting equipment damage because I placed my stand on top of these rocks. I was worried that a small gust of wind will tip my light stand over and destroy my light. Did you guys know they cats live inside these rocks that stretch out towards the sea? Weird eh?....Catfish???? no...that doesn't work. Nevermind -_-

Nisha, hair stylist, arrives and does Elena's hair. I love the braid thing she did over her forehead and how she gave volume to Elena's hair.

Indoor shots. Normally I don't really like shots where models are smiling because most of them appear fake. This one though looks pretty good to me. Nisha once again does a great job with her hair. Here she wears her golden feather leaf earnings.

And Nisha does something very cool with her hair. :) I love Elana's facial expression. Katie, wardrobe stylist, also arrives in time to shoot this shot.

I always wanted to try one of those shots where the shadow is part of the composition. unfortunately my shadow was a bit too soft, but next time I'll get it right :D Still, I like this shot. Elena is a very smiling person in person, so it's cool capturing her with a different demeanor.
Katie holding a reflector for me. I like this picture a lot because it shows the teamwork that was involved in my shoot, and it shows that everyone was having a fun good time. :)

Ahh, the bohemian look. I asked Elena just to...stand still and do nothing. Chill lol. Nisha's work on Elena's hair was great and Katie added the two braids on her forehead. I love Elana's look here.
I found that the Katie and Elena compliment each other well. So I took some shots :D I wanted the girls to give me expressionless face. I want to feel out of place, or feel threatened by them just by facial expression along. I love how they pulled it off and how their expressions compliment one another.
Once again, here was the video I made earlier.
