Shikimaru, Rain, and Mosquitos
We were set to shoot in the Everglades at around 6. The problem was that it had been raining and, well, we were worried that we would have to cancel the shoot. The clouds were grey...very grey. I wanted some light in the background along with some of the grey clouds but...the clouds were just blocking the sun, completely messing up the lighting scheme I wanted to try. On top of that, it began to rain lightly as I began setting up my lights. I cannot use my lights while it rains. I said to Elena and Paul, "Well, lets just shoot anything and lets see what happens".
This has to be the second fastest shoot I've ever done. Shooting for only about 7 minutes. Did I mention that since it has been raining a lot lately we literally were attacked by HUGE hungry mosquitoes? It was by far the MOST uncomfortable shoot I have ever done. My face and neck were swollen from mosquito bites. I should have listened to Elena when she recommended NOT to wear shorts to this shoot because of potential mosquito bites. Lesson learned? ALWAYS listen to my wife :( Anyways, below is one of the pics I took from this 7 minute shoot.
I am not completely happy with the lighting as I shot in practically pure darkness with no light in the background, but still, I think it came out pretty neat. It's a great Shikimaru shot. Paul and I rescheduled the shoot to September. Lets see what we can do then.

Oh and yes. Here is proof of the incredible JUMBO Everglades Mosquitos!

Paul took this photo of me right after we got into the car to drive out of the Everglades. I had bites on the other side of my face, arms, legs, and neck. I'm telling you, JUMBO MOSQUITOES OF DOOM!
