A change at Work
I work at a law firm located in Fort Lauderdale. I have been there for about almost 2 years now and I have loved every minute there. The problem is that I live in Miami...and the drive up there is just about an hour to go to and from work. One of the guys in my department that is located in our Miami branch is leaving, and an option was given to me. Would I like to work at the Miami branch which is located 5-10 minutes away from my house? After a deep thought... I decided to take it.
For the next two weeks I began to develop a sort of sorrow while working at the office.
- Joking with someone about their printer problem....
- looking at my call ID to see a name and immediately guess what their IT issue is....
- saying "yo face!" to my co-worker and poking fun at him for wearing rtght pink shirts....
- art talk with another photographer....
- an attorney showing me his iphone photographs and his e-mail jokes....
- playfully annoying a file clerk with the tapping of my shoes as I walk past...
- a secretary that has traveled the world and is now going to law school...
- an attorney who's done it all and accused me of being a "turn coat" (I'm just fighting on another front, but for the same team Chuck!)!....
- an attorney with the most amazing family to photograph....
- an elderly secretary with a mean looking cane that she wiggles at me (that I sometimes misplace for her while she's not looking!)...
- a file clerk who I am photo shooting on Sunday...
- a really tall attorney that makes me feels shorter than I am....
- a group of secretaries that I worked out with on a company fitness program...
- one of the best receptionists that always updates me whenever there is an unscheduled visitor that is in need of IT equipment...
- a tennis playing attorney...
- a secretary that loaned me a Stephen King book (that I promise to finish!)...
- a World of Warcraft playing attorney that I helped become l33t!...
- an associate who is always breaking his Blackberry and blames us lol...
- a paralegal with a good heart and awesome daughter...
- a secretary who loves her new iPhone...
- a secretary with the cutest new puppy....
- a very generous attorney who runs for good causes...
- an attorney who's son recently became a part time photographer...
- a secretary who now knows how to put pictures as backgrounds...
- a secretary that likes to spank people...
- a paralegal with an awesome black and white wallpaper photo of herself and her dog...
- the most amazing office manager anyone could ever meet...
- an attorney who ran for public office...
- a secretary who is a sculptor and perhaps soon to be model...
- an amazing on-site services staff with an equally amazing manager who's niece looks just like him!...
- a tough, but fair managing attorney...
- a secretary that also enjoys breakfast burritos from Mc.Donalds :)...
- a paralegal with dual screens and who is sometimes too techie for his own good ^_^...and more!

On my last day, the office manager's daughter kept talking and talking to me about art work and photography. I later realize, as I enter the kitchen and notice everyone's timed "SURPRISE", that she was but a distraction lol. They had prepared a good bye cake for me. Here is the real kicker and what I LOVED about the cake. Instead of saying something along the lines of "We will miss you!", it said, "You will miss us!!".
They are right.
